About Us

Our Story

Live Again Independent Living began with a simple but urgent question: What if safe and stable housing was within reach for everyone?

Across South Carolina, too many people face barriers that keep them from having a place to call home. Veterans returning from service, young adults leaving foster care, individuals with disabilities, low-income families and individuals, and those rebuilding their lives after incarceration often find themselves without the support they need. Many are left vulnerable to cycles of homelessness, insecurity, or unsafe environments.

Our founder, Nikki G. Simpson, saw the critical gap in affordable room rentals in South Carolina and responded with a solution rooted in compassion and community. By offering independent living for low-income individuals in safe, shared spaces, we create a place where dignity is restored, community is built, and the first steps toward independence can be taken.

Live Again started small but has grown because the need is undeniable. Housing insecurity does not discriminate, and the absence of stability impacts health, opportunity, and even survival. That is why our work is guided by urgency, but carried out with care and a commitment to long-term change.

To walk alongside those we serve, creating pathways to independence while building a community rooted in trust and belonging.

What We Stand For

Values That Guide Our Work

At Live Again Independent Living, our values are the foundation of everything we do. They guide every decision, from how we structure our affordable pricing to how we interact with our residents.

Stability Meets Opportunity

Impact and Commitment

Every room we provide is a chance to start over. Live Again Independent Living has already helped hundreds of individuals transition from uncertainty into safe, supportive homes.

For veterans seeking safe housing, we offer a place where they can heal and rebuild. For young adults aging out of foster care, we provide structure, safety, and community during a vulnerable time of transition. For individuals on SSI or disability benefits, we make sure that limited income does not mean sacrificing security. For those leaving incarceration, our homes represent a second chance to reintegrate into society and live with dignity. And for all who are struggling to keep up with high rents, we offer shared housing for low-income residents as a realistic, empowering alternative.

By combining practical solutions with a compassionate, community-driven model, we are filling a gap that has left far too many without options. Our supportive housing with dignity model ensures that people are not just placed in a house, but welcomed into a community where their worth is recognized.
